Breakthrough Solution for Black Plastic Sorting

Black plastics are found everywhere, from vehicles to electronics and packaging, and are notoriously difficult to identify and sort for recycling. Hyperspectral imaging, specifically in the MWIR spectral range, is the only technology capable of accurately identifying and sorting different types of black plastics. The Specim FX50 is the only hyperspectral camera on the market that covers the full mid-wave infrared (MWIR) spectral range required for accurate and efficient black plastics sorting.

Up to 300 kg of plastic flakes per minute with nearly 99% accuracy

It can classify ABS, PP, PE, PC, PS and POM among others. It is an effective tool when working with larger samples down to small shredded materials, thanks to it's high spatial resolution. It enables quick and efficient plastics sorting of all samples at once, not requiring prior separation of colored and black plastics.
